Free Check Terms of Service

We offer this free check in order to establish whether the finance agreement that you took out to purchase your vehicle was mis-sold and/or cost you more than it should have.

This service is completely free of charge and you are under no obligation to pursue a claim once this free check has been completed. You can cancel this free check at any time, at no cost, nor are you obliged to subsequently pursue any claim.

To carry out the free check we will contact the appropriate finance provider to obtain copies of documentation relating to the finance you took out, including (but not limited to) a copy of the finance agreement. You may need to provide certain document as proof of ID to allow us to do this. As part of this check we may also carry out a soft credit search to ensure that we provide the most accurate information to the finance provider, which will help us to obtain the information we require to carry out the assessment as quickly as possible. This will not affect your credit score in any way or leave a footprint on your credit file.

Once the free check is complete, we or one of our trusted third party partners (as detailed in our Privacy Policy under Disclosure/transfer of data) will contact you with the results and provide our findings to you. If we believe that you may have a claim against your finance provider, you can decide how you would like proceed. If you do not feel you wish to pursue a claim, we will close your file in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

However, if you do wish to pursue a claim you can choose to do this yourself, free of charge, by contacting the finance provider and, if they reject the claim, escalating the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. If the finance provider is no longer in business, you may be able to direct a claim to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Alternatively, if you choose to use our expertise to assist you with your claim, we will send you our full Terms and Conditions for you to read, sign and return which will detail what Fees we would charge to pursue your claim on your behalf. You can read our full Terms Conditions here.

We may advise that your claim is better placed with one of our partner law firms, depending on the nature and complexity of the case. In this case, the partner law firms Terms and Conditions and Fees will apply and these will be sent to you to read, sign and return if you wish to pursue the claim with them.

If we refer your claim to one of our partner law firms, you do not have to pay us anything, we will receive payment from our partner law firm for referring your case to them.
